This Week’s Contestant of the Week for September 13, 2019

Jason from Jeopardy! is this week’s Contestant of the Week, now up to an 11-day total of $322,243, a run starting late in Season 35, with his Friday score of $58,400 being the fifth-highest non-Holzhauer regular play score. He is pretty much locked into the Tournament of Champions that follows the 2019 edition (the 2019 roster was officially set before the start of his run). Honorable Mentions: Rachel from Wheel of Fortune for winning $71,980 in cash, 2 trips & a Ford Edge from the Bonus Round; Alissa from Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader for raking in $50K with only one error during her game.

The Estrada family from Common Knowledge are this week’s ZONK Contestants of the Week for their brutal playing on Friday’s episode. Dishonorable Mentions: Elaine becomes the first gooseegg victim of S37 of WOF; Sean busting out on Tuesday’s FJ!; Mark on Tuesday’s WOF episode squanders $8,000 declining on the Mystery Wedge although he won his game.

Tragic News

Eddie Money, the legendary rocker known for “Two Tickets to Paradise” & “Take Me Home Tonight” with the former last being used as a puzzle in a 2015 episode of Wheel of Fortune as well as a theme week in Season 23 of Wheel, has lost his battle to Stage 4 esophageal cancer and passed away at the age of 70 early this morning.

Rest in peace, Eddie Money. Thoughts & prayers go out to his loved ones.
